ANEMIA

Anemia is a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body’s tissues. Having anemia can make you feel tired and weak. There are many forms of anemia, each with its own cause. Anemia can be temporary or long term, and it can range from mild to severe.

Anemia is one of the major iron deficiency diseases. It is a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body’s tissues. Having anemia can make you feel tired and weak. Anemia is caused by a shortage of iron in your body. Studies have shown that anemia affects 41.7% to 77.0% of Women in Pakistan. Anemia is more prevalent in the rural areas of Pakistan, where it is often severe and linked to adverse health consequences. In developing countries 46-66% of children less than 4 years of age are anemic and 50% of them have iron deficiency anemia .In Pakistan prevalence of Anemia in children is reported from 33% 11-73.5%.lt has been reported that Anemia has been increasing in Pakistan day by day. The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for all age groups of men and postmenopausal women is 8 mg/day, the RDA for premenopausal women is 18 mg/day. The median dietary intake of iron is approximately 16 to 18 mg/day for men and 12 mg/day for women.

IT WORKS AS A SILENT KILLER.

• A cost effective and possible cure is not present.

• There is no awareness among people about the iron deficiency mostly in rural areas and slum areas,

• People that are suffering from this don't prefer to go to hospitals and check up because there is no easy access and they can't afford it too.

• Product that are iron rich(nutritious) are not available in market channels and the food that having a lot of iron like green leafy vegetables, their nutritional value leaches out during cooking so people become unable to get enough iron that is required so there is a need of such development that could be cost effective, easily accessible and nutritious to combat that disease.

We as a team want to bring awareness and a cost effective solution. Here’s the Business model canvas for the mega project, explaining the details.

  • Handling social media platforms.
  • Contacting social welfare organizations and sponsors.
  • Organizing a plan for producing and distributing beetroot juice products.
  • One member will oversee how the plan is going and what hurdles can be experienced ahead.

But it’s not always so easy because there are lots of hurdles to overcome. First of all we ourselves need guidance to move forward and it is a time limited project. We have only six weeks left to work on it. We contacted some organizations and NGOs to learn about the problems and solutions they have learnt so far facing so many challenges.

  • The first problem was “how to mark the area where we can serve?”.

This is the link for the survey form which will tell how much people are actually aware of Anemia as a problem. And if they know or have any proper solution for it? This survey will give a rough idea about people’s awareness. We will also try to get information from tiger platforms like google researches and news about which areas are affected by anemia.

  • Then the big problem is “how to raise funds?”.

In this regard many people like to give donations and we can also get sponsors from different pharmaceutical companies by giving them advertisement facilities.

  • Currently the situation of COVID-19 is getting worse again therefore it won’t be that easy to go in those areas for awareness and for providing beetroot juice products.

We will take permission from authority. And we can also collaborate with the health department.
